  • FCT Group CEO Adriano Greco continues to lead FCT and subsidiaries globally through his position at the helm of the growing organization, which currently has 7 offices worldwide.
  • The strengthened management structure will better assist high-temperature processing partners worldwide in achieving their sustainability goals.

Rodrigo Araujo has been appointed as Head of Business Unit (Americas) at FCT Combustion, beginning on the 6th of January, 2025. Araujo joins FCT after having worked at Vale for 26 years where he held various senior executive roles, with the most recent being General Manager of Decarbonization Technologies.

Araujo’s skillset, as well as his focus on decarbonization in high temperature processing environments, aligns with FCT’s mandate to deliver sustainable solutions for partners in the iron and steel, cement, lime, alumina, mining and mineral processing industries.

FCT Group CEO Adriano Greco, who had concurrently managed the Americas Business Unit up to this point, will now focus exclusively on his main role of global leadership across the growing organization including subsidiaries FCT Combustion, FCT ACTech, and FCT Flames.

Constantine Manias, Chairman of the Board at FCT, outlined how the transition is part of the larger strategy for FCT, which is currently celebrating its 40th year.

“FCT is focused on delivering sustainable thermal and industrial solutions to increase customer value and environmental responsibility,” he said.

“We have business units in North America, South America, Australia, Europe, and China to ensure we can offer the best outcomes locally, backed by our global expertise.”

“Under Adriano’s leadership, the Americas business unit has grown to become the largest and most profitable business unit for FCT, achieved through several contracts for complete pyro-processing lines in the iron and steel industry, as well as ongoing partnerships within the cement and lime industry.”

“Most recently, the team has won the contract to supply a 1100-tpd flash calciner in the USA for the production of supplementary cementitious materials. Projects such as this are particularly important to our client base as heavy industry adjusts its processes for reduced environmental impact, and we are pleased to be able to offer our technology and expertise.”

“This management addition will now allow Adriano to focus exclusively on FCT’s continued growth from a global perspective across all business units, in the capacity of Group CEO.”

Adriano Greco was pleased to make the announcement and expressed confidence that he leaves the Americas business unit in capable hands.

“I am very pleased to welcome Rodrigo to FCT, and we are confident that our offices in North and South America will continue to flourish and thrive under his leadership,” he said.

“As a senior executive with a wealth of experience in leading high performance, cross-functional teams in the Americas and Asia, Rodrigo is the optimal choice to lead the unit into its next phase.”

“Rodrigo’s knowledge of the mining and metallurgical industry from the client-side, as well as his expertise in decarbonization, will be beneficial for our customers as they increasingly seek new methods to lower emissions while maintaining high quality and production.”
